Microsoft Delivers New Security Updates
Microsoft, adhering to a greater responsibility of delivering security fixes to its user base, has provided almost fifteen updates addressing as many as thirty four security holes in their software products including Microsoft Office, Windows operating system, Silver Light, and Internet Explorer. Users who still have Windows XP installed will only pick up a small amount of the security patches. One technology officer of a security organization commented, “This security update is a very large one involving a huge amount of individuals. The update itself isn't the normal security patch Microsoft releases.”
Out of the entire list of security updates Microsoft has placed the critical stamp on eight of the patches. The other fixes have been given a label of important. The last time Microsoft released security patches totaling this amount was in the year 2009, October and the month of February of the year 2010. It was also done in the month of June. Microsoft Office for these machines will receive the Office update security patch, as Microsoft views the actual version of Office and not the operating system where it has been installed. Windows XP service pack two users must seek assistance from third-party vendors in order to fix their unsupported version of Windows.
